I got a call from a friend last week. He wanted an information from me and during the course of our discussion he told me that he has bought a car and has been driving himself for almost two months. I felt so happy for him and at the same time i was so surprised. Why was i surprised? The last time we met (precisely in December 2010), he narrated to me his ordeal at the hands of his former employers and how it has been pretty difficult making ends meet. But now, seven months after, he now has a car of his own and things are now getting better. You may ask that how did it happen, did he win a lottery? NO. Maybe he is into YAHOO. No maga paid him. He was steadfast and eventually he got a good job that pays well and the rest as they say is history.
Well, after we finished talking the thought that first came to my mind was, 'when am i going to have my own car?', 'when am i going to stop jumping from bus to bike?'. Almost instantly, this bible verse came to my mind, Ecclesiastes 3 vs 1 "For everything there is a fixed time, and a time for every business under the sun". What this translates into is that everyone has his own appointed time with destiny and when your appointed time comes you will definitely get what you rightly deserve. So i dont have to rush myself because if am not careful i may get crushed.
Dear friends and readers, we must not give up on our dreams because one day our time will come. We may be down at present but that does not mean we are out. The future may look bleak and dim but i tell you something, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I have heard the stories of great men who rose from nothing to something and i have been greatly inspired by these stories. Let me warn you, not all the success stories you hear are genuine. A number of them will only come and tell you tales by moonlight, they will never open up about all the fraudulent and shady things they did to make wealth. I have heard some genuine success stories and i am more convinced that if those people could make it, i will surely make it. I have no other choice. I know it will take time, perseverance, hard work and the grace of God to get there but am so willing to make the necessary sacrifice.
I am looking forward to the day when i will stand in front of young and enrgetic minds to share my own success story. I have big and great dreams and i can see them coming true.
